1099-MISC reporting in boxes 7 and 3

Q. The 2018 1099-MISC of one supplier is showing $3,000 in Box 7 and $200 in Box 3, since in 2018 we have to separate Box 7 amounts from the rest of the boxes. Do we need to report the Box 3 amount even if it's under the threshold? Our system is not generating the form for Box 3. Is that correct? A.  The dollar amount thresholds that trigger reporting are applied on a per box basis so, in the example referenced in the question, reporting of the $300 amount in box 3 has never been required. …
