Q.¬†Our company does matching funds. We require a 501C form from the organization as proof of tax exempt status. We have an recipient providing a form 990N in lieu, stating if income is less than 50K they file this instead. Is this an acceptable proof of tax exemption status in lieu of a 501C3 letter from the IRS? A.
