Dealing with utility payments during COVID-19

Q. In the wake of the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to process checks to our utility vendors. We do not want to sign up for “Auto Pay” for the utility vendor because that is not part of company’s “best practice.” Is it secure to have a company's utility vendors set up for "Auto Pay" to directly debit from the bank account? I am asking because we pay our utility vendors via check because we are not sure if the payment is secure. I do download all of the invoices from our utility vendors.…
