Determining if a supplier needs a 1099

Q. My team is responsible for the vendor master file at our company. We have a basic vendor setup form we use to collect information on new suppliers to set up. I would like to know if there is something we can incorporate into our setup form that will help us determine if the supplier needs a 1099. On the IRS Form 1099-MISC, the first page includes a list of "specific instructions." Should I turn them into questions on my setup form and if any come back as a yes, we set the vendor up to…
