Determining state nexus for 1099 reporting

Q. I work for a company that has many locations within the United States and all payments are generated from one or two main corporations in our system. We do not have any backup withholding on payments generated, but determining nexus is going to be time consuming and messy so I am not sure how to get the information out of our system to begin with. My question is how do you determine nexus for state reporting and if there are multiple states, how is that reported on the form? Do you register…
