Grand juror payments

Q.¬†We pay our grand jurors for their services and 90% of the time it is over $600. We have always reported the earnings on 1099-Misc. We have a grand juror who wants to donate that payment to one of our approved organizations we allow our regular court jurors. Our regular court jurors do not reach the $600 limit, so have never been concerned with 1099 reporting. We can make the donation but we are concerned with 1099 reporting. Will this still be considered income to the grand…
