Requiring new W-9 forms

Q. My company does a lot of acquisitions. Our normal process on adding new vendors, outside of acquisition, is to require the newest (Oct. 2018) W-9 form. However, acquisitions can come with hundreds of new suppliers to add in our systems, but not new to the company we acquired. Should we require a new (Oct 2018) W-9 still or can we utilize the older ones on record with acquired company? This would mean we would only require a new W-9 on these suppliers if some key information like EIN, name or…
