Q. (cont.) We make payments directly to medical providers via an outside plan administrator.
Recently the plan administrator has told us that they will issue checks to the medical providers, but that these checks will now need to be issued from one of our own checking accounts, and we will sign the checks.
How are 1099s handled when a company has a self-funded or partially self-funded medical insurance plan?
