Q. I work for a university and we're trying to understand the taxation around third party platforms such as Venmo. In cases where an employee from our university pays another individual directly for a service, who would be responsible for issuing the 1099? Some of the services that our employees pay for, and the university reimburses them for include driving services, online classes, cleaning services, etc. Is it up to Venmo to track those payments and issue the 1099 when necessary or should…
