Canada IOFM Chapter Leadership

Leslie Smeyers, BSc, AOCM
President 

Leslie is the Senior Finance Director, GPO of Order to Cash and AP Services at Celestica. He is an experienced senior operational finance director with a demonstrated history of working in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry.

As an IOFM speaker and member of both the AP and AR IOFM Advisory Panels since 2021, Les generously shares his expertise in the areas of cash flow, budgeting, account reconciliation, accounting, risk management, and internal controls. Les is a founding member of the Canada IOFM Chapter and served as Secretary from 2019 through 2021. He looks forward to his new role as President.

Arlene Gibb
Vice President

Arlene joined STEP Energy Services in August 2022 as the AP Team Lead.  She manages the AP team for Canadian Operations.

She has more than 15 years of experience in accounts payable processes including experience with many different types of software. She has also been part of an integration team merging several companies into one accounting system.

Arlene has a Business Administration certificate, has taken several courses in the Accelerated Accounting program and completed her Account Payable Manager Certification (IOFM) in 2022.

Christina McArdle, APS
Secretary and Committee Chair

Christina has held many titles over her 20-plus years with Irving Consumer Products Limited. Her current title is Financial Services Analyst.

Christina works mainly within the Accounts Payable department but provides support for other departments, such as Accounting, Procurement, and Accounts Receivable.

Over the years, she has had the opportunity to play an integral role on four major capital projects. The most recent project was the building of Irving’s newest Tissue Site, located in Macon, Georgia.

The IOFM Canada Chapter will network and share ideas regarding APP2P and ARO2C processes, internal controls, compliance, and regulations, while working cohesively to build a stronger Financial Operations community in Canada.

Outside of the IOFM annual conferences, the chapter will provide the Canadian financial operations community the opportunity to meet on a quarterly basis.
