Access to the course lasts for one year after date of purchase. Since it is self-study, learners can move at their own pace, but IOFM recommends a timeline of about 3 months to move through the material. Total learning hours for this course are estimated at 35 hours.

The self-study program (accessed via the IOFM.com E-Learning Center) is composed of three volumes that advance in difficulty: Volume 1 (Foundations), Volume 2 (Formulas and Functions) and Volume 3 (PivotTables). Each volume is composed of a series of video lectures, "homework assignments" (which are Excel workbooks with hands-on exercises) and short quizzes. There is a final exam for each volume (70-80 questions each in 90 minutes each). Learners have three attempts on each exam.

IOFM does not offer CEUs for Certification classes. We know that earning your Certification takes a lot of time! However, the nature of continuing education is that it is additional training you do after you are certified in order to keep up with the standards set by the program. Therefore, earning your credentials does not count towards your CEU requirement. If you already hold an IOFM Certification, you may count subsequent live Certification classes for 6 CEUs towards that previously-held Certification.

Most updated version of Google Chrome, a desktop/laptop computer with a functioning speakers and a strong Internet connection. If accessing from a work computer, some companies' VPN/security settings can impede course performance (visit the Help Center for resolutions). Please be sure to have Microsoft Excel for Windows Versions 2010 and later installed on your computer.

There is no continuing education requirement for this course.
