1099 Reporting After ERP Consolidation: Filing Under One Entity

Q. Our company currently files 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms under six legal entities, based on where expenses are booked and payments made. In 2026, we’ll transition to a new ERP system where all payments will be made under one entity, with intercompany entries to allocate expenses internally. For 1099 purposes, reporting will come solely from that one entity. Could this create any IRS issues or audit concerns when we stop filing under the other entities’ TINs? A.  (Answered by IOFM's…
