Q. My company received an invoice from the informal group (social club) which is not registered with the IRS and has no EIN. Consequently, this informal group cannot supply the usual W9 required by accounts payable. The accounts payable department was instructed to make check payable to an individual who is a member of the group but he won't be the sole beneficiary of funds.
