ACH Payment Date Best Practices: Process Date vs. Deposit Date

Q. I would like to get some insight from my peers regarding ACH best business practices. We’ve recently rolled out the ACH payment process for one of the companies we manage, and I’m curious how others handle the following process. When determining the payment date for ACH transactions, do you use the date the ACH is processed, or the date when the funds actually hit the vendors’ bank accounts and why?
