Best Practices for Vendor Payments Upon Invoice Receipt

Q. Are there Best Class processes for paying vendors upon receipt of invoice? Does the best class process include a maximum wait if the invoice is already extremely late?
A.

We do not pay invoices upon receipt. Payments are scheduled and processed semi-monthly, on the 15th of the month, and on the 30th of the month.If an invoice is late, then payment is issued in the next scheduled payment cycle.
