Error in IRS Publication 1220?

Q. Publication 1220 states on page 10, item 3: Sec. 7 Reporting Nonemployee Compensation in Tax Year 2021 – Updated Form 1099-NEC, Nonemployee Compensation is part of the Combined Federal/State Filing (CF/SF) Program. I understand this to mean that for 1099-NECs, we can now add the state code to the ASCII file for this reporting. However when I go to page 113 of publication 1220 where the file layout is for the 1099-NEC, there is not a filed specified for the state and federal reporting. Fields…
