Q. If we have a supplier requesting for a copy of their 1099 from 4 years ago, but based off our system we did not issue a 1099 although they should have received one. Should we file a correction? or since the 3 years statue of limitation has passed there is no need? A. (Answered by IOFM's third-party tax advisor) If the statute of limitations has passed, there would be nothing to do at this point as far as filing a 1099 now.  115726
