Q. We submitted a file of three 1099-SB's (for tax year 2024) to the new IRS system, IRIS, via our 1099 processing vendor. We're an insurance company, and these are all TERM life policies. It was rejected by the IRS twice and the error file indicates a surrender dollar amount is required on these records. But ours are zero, and that's how they've always been filed.
