Problem accessing TIN matching system after a merger

Q. I am part of a metro government agency. We exist after the merger of a city entity and a county entity. We file our 1099s using one name. However recently, while working on a request for a new CP2100 letter, I found that the IRS has us listed under another name. Plus I believe that we have a different name for another IRS account. I do know that we file withholding tax for our employees. We may soon need to start to file withholding tax for a few 1099 and 1042S vendors. We have been trying…
