Q. I am trying to move my AP department into TIN matching and E-filing of 1099s. To get a TTC number with the IRS I need a company officer to set up the account. When I asked my Chief Accounting Officer to set it up they advised that they would not do it since the IRS requires identity verification through ID.ME. They also advised that our CPA firm told them that we do not need to file 1099 forms electronically. I do not have direct access to speak with our CPA, We currently file about 20…
