Q. A sole proprietor provided consulting services for us in 2023 for the amount of $3,000.00. These consulting services took place in Colorado. However, the vendor is located in Minnesota (their W9 also lists Minnesota). Our company is headquartered in North Dakota. When filing the combined federal and state filing for 2023 via form 1099-NEC, which state should we list for the 1099? A. (Answered by IOFM's third-party tax experts) Minnesota, the service provider's state of tax residency.   103043
