Finding Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are earned by completing relevant continuing education — that is, training and education that furthers the skills that you learned in your original Certification programs. In general, IOFM awards CEUs on the basis of 1 hour = 1 CEU. You can earn CEUs from IOFM or from outside of IOFM. Our full list of CEU rules can be found on our CEU Guidelines page

CEU Opportunities from IOFM

IOFM offers far more than the 15 CEUs per year through webinars, white papers and events. Some more than 15 per year — are free; some require a registration fee. Please refer to the CEU Opportunities page for more information regarding where on to find CEUs and how much each kind is worth.

CEU Opportunities from outside of IOFM

Other training you complete throughout the year may qualify for CEUs. Please carefully read the CEU Guidelines to see if your training qualifies and how to calculate the amount of CEUs it's worth.

Self-Reporting Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

After you complete a CEU opportunity, you must self-report it in order to receive your CEUs. Go to My Account > My E-Learning Center > My Certifications > Manage CEUs > Add CEU. A short form will pop-up for you to complete. Here's what we're looking for:

The title of the training (Please use the actual title of the training and not generic terms like "webinar" or "white paper" - you'll fill in that information later in the form)

Description (Optional)

What did you learn about? What is the summary of the content covered? While this is an optional section, it is recommended for self-reporting CEUs outside of IOFM in order to help staff determine relevancy or the amount of CEUs. If your account is under review and you do not fill out this section, IOFM staff may have to contact you for additional information or remove the CEUs if we do not have the information we need.

Date Completed (Required)

Use the date picker to properly format the date, or you will not be able to save the CEU record.

Subject Area & Activity Type (Required)

Simply select the most appropriate option from dropdown!

What organization held this activity? For webinars and white papers offered by IOFM, feel free to simply list IOFM.
