Per IOFM CEU Guidelines, IOFM certification-holders can earn 1 CEU per 1 hour of relevant training (excluding meals, networking events and breaks) from for events outside of IOFM.
However, third-party organizations interested in promoting their events as pre-qualifying for CEU credit for IOFM certification-holders need to be officially authorized as an IOFM CEU Sponsor and your event approved for continuing education before doing so.
Please note that IOFM will only pre-qualify in-person, live events for CEU credit. The only webinars, whitepapers or any other e-learning that can be promoted in advance for CEU credit are through IOFM. If you are a solution provider interested in partnering with IOFM to develop an automation whitepaper or webinar, please contact Gordon Bivens, Sr. Account Manager, Exhibitor Sales at [email protected] or 207-842-5668.
Please reach out to the IOFM Certification Department at [email protected] with the following information about your event at least six weeks prior to the event:
Additional information on what counts for CEUs can be found here.
Once we approve the content, IOFM charges an administrative fee of $100 per CEU in order to complete the pre-qualification process. Please keep in mind that this is not per CEU that you distribute out to attendees, but for what the entire event is worth. For example: IOFM pre-qualifies your event for 3 CEUs. You give out 20 certificates, totaling 60 CEUs. You are charged $300 (3 x $100), regardless of how many CEUs you end up giving out. IOFM will send you the payment link only after your content is approved.
After approval, IOFM CEU Sponsors must adhere to the following standards:
Whenever CEUs are promoted, the sponsor must also publish a CEU sponsor statement and logo, given to them by IOFM after approval for CEUs. The purpose of this statement is to a) demonstrate that IOFM has pre-qualified this event for CEUs, and b) to give our certification-holders the necessary information to log their CEUs online after the event.
You will be responsible for monitoring session attendance and administering CEU certificates with the appropriate amount of credit. The process of how our certification-holders receive their certificates should be made clear to attendees and to IOFM prior to the event. Does everyone receive a certificate, or do they need to request it, and if so from who?
Our certification-holders will need to attach this certificate to the CEU submission that they upload in their IOFM.com account. You have flexibility with the format of the certificate but it should have the attendee’s name, the name of the event, the dates of the event, the number of IOFM CEUs awarded and the subject area clearly articulated. It should also include a small version of the IOFM CEU Sponsor logo (We can review a sample if you'd like.)
You will need to provide us with a contact for your event who is managing the continuing education program and, if different, the person who would be in charge of distributing certificates (or indicate if it is yourself). IOFM is only authorized to give out IOFM CEU credits. We will not handle inquiries regarding any other form of continuing education credits. If attendees contact you with questions regarding IOFM CEUs, please feel free to direct them to our FAQs or forward the question to [email protected].
