Changes to vendor's name and tax ID

Q. One of our vendors sent a letter stating that their company merged into another entity. We also received a new W-9. The TIN and company name have changed; everything else remains the same (federal tax classification, address, and banking info). I don’t know if a new vendor record should be created or if the existing vendor record should simply be updated to reflect the new entity name and TIN. Please advise. A.
