Q. A vendor selected the LLC C federal tax classification on their Form W-9, so we didn't issue them a 2024 Form 1099. They just reached out asking about their 2024 Form 1099, and said they completed the Form W-9 incorrectly, and they're actually a single-member LLC. We're going to update their federal tax classification so we'll issue them a Form 1099 for 2025 and thereafter, but should we issue them a 2024 Form 1099? Does that put our organization at risk for fines/penalties? Is there any way…
