Q. I work for a community college and we had a real vendor reach out to us in June of 2025 with a statement showing three invoices that were past due. These invoices originated in Aug 2024 and were paid in Aug 2024. The real vendor said they never received the payment. We did some digging and it looks like this could have been a fraudulent payment. We had an ACH/Direct Deposit form filled out by the fake vendor and they provided a bank letter that looked legit. We even prenoted it with our bank…
