Q. 1. We are a government entity, occasionally an elected official will reimburse a non-employee for expenses of going to an educational event.Would I issue a 1099 Misc? Would I issue a 1099G? Or would this not be taxable? 2. Some departments also have boards, and these board members are considered public officials. We do not consider their mileage a taxable item, but I am not clear on if the flat rate for attending the meeting would be a 1099 or if it should be a W-2. Can you provide…
