Are Payments Made to a Trust or Estate Reportable on a 1099?

Q. This is from a donor property which has 20% going to a trust and the rest to the University. My question is, would the 20% portion paid to the estate be reportable on a 1099? We are in process of setting up vendor now. Payment will be made to a the trust. A. (Answered by IOFM's third-party tax expert) If the payment is otherwise reportable on a 1099, then you would report to a trust. There is no exception to reporting for trusts or estates.
