LLC with a new name but the same TIN

Q. We have a vendor with 1099-NEC reporting that the W-9 had the individual's name on line 1 and the company name on line 2. When this was first set up, we did not do TIN matching. This LLC has changed ownership so we have a new W-9, new name on line 1 but with the same name on Line 2 and more importantly, the same TIN as the original. We didn't know of the change so the 2023 1099 was issued to former owner. How does this work with a new Legal name but same TIN?  A. (Answered by IOFM's…
