Missed filing a 1099-NEC form

Q. We have an individual that wasn't marked in our system to produce a 1099 NEC for 2021. We have now discovered the error and need to issue a 1099 NEC to the individual and send the information to the IRS. We already sent an electronic file in January to the IRS for 2021 forms. What are the steps to CORRECT this "missing info" with the IRS? I read the IRS instructions but it isn't clear what to do when information wasn't original filed. I had a issue locating the IRS instructions for this…
