TIN Matching Fails After Vendor Name Change

Q. We have a vendor in our system that filed a name change in the State of Delaware in February 2026. We received the updated W-9 from the vendor in May, and when we run the TINS match, the IRS is not validating it. However, when we run the TINS with the old name, it is coming up valid. The company provided us with a certificate of amendment stating that the company name has been changed.
