Q. Is there any way to verify that a DBA name is associated with the legal entity name and TIN, perhaps along the same lines as IRS TIN matching? How can an AP analyst determine if someone has submitted a W-9 with a legitimate company's legal name and TIN, but a fraudulent DBA or remittance name listed?
