W-9 from a single member LLC

Q. My company received a W-9 from single member LLC vendor. The W-9 has an EIN and LLC name on line1. The LLC name and EIN is a match with the IRS records. However, the vendor selected single member LLC as tax classification. I asked the vendor if the LLC is a disregarded entity. If yes, I asked the vendor to provide W-9 line 1 with the name as shown on income tax return and owner’s SSN (or EIN, if the owner has one) instead a disregarded entity EIN.
