Q. We have a new company we are adding as a supplier in our vendor master data. We requested their IRS Form W-9, and they identified themselves as a reportable "Partnership." We always utilize the IRS Tin Match system to verify TIN/name ownership prior to adding new suppliers in our system. In this instance, the name of the company had changed fairly recently and their TIN is still associated with their previous name. What are best practices in this situation?
