Q. We received a completed W-8BEN-E from a Canadian company. They have a U.S. mailing address listed on the W-8BEN-E. We questioned the vendor and they stated they are a Canadian entity, but their invoicing and collections are handled by the U.S. parent company. In this situation, is a completed W-8BEN-E the correct form for vendor to complete since the parent company is U.S. entity? Also, for any potential tax reporting, would a 1042-S or 1099 be the correct form to issue? A. (Answered by a…
