Q. If we are able to verify that the TIN listed on a vendor's W-9 matches the name in Line 2 (DBA) and not the Legal name listed on Line 1, should we accept the W-9 as is and just make sure our records reflect the proper legal name or should we require a revised W-9 from the vendor? Also, does it matter if we receive an old version of the W-9 or does it need to be the current version?
