Utility payments made to a landlord

Q. We have an office lease with a company who has a W-9 that lists themselves as an LLC P, but since they are a property management company, we would not be issuing them a 1099 for the rent. However, the landlord sends us a bill for the utilities and trash/janitorial services rather than us paying the company directly. I know that the rent portion of the payments are not subject to 1099 reporting, but are the utilities/trash service we are paying subject to 1099 reporting? A. (Answered by a 3rd…
