Withholding for 510(c)(6) vendor

Q. We have a supplier that is 501(c)(6) reportable. They do not have a copy of their IRS designation letter and we can not verify on the IRS website. We have marked them for withholding in our system. Federal income tax is being withheld from payments to the supplier since they are not able to provide a copy of their IRS designation letter and/or we are not able to verify their 501(c)(6) or 501(c)(3) status on the IRS website. Through webinars it has been brought to our attention that…
