Supplier acquired by another company with a different tax ID

Q. We have a Supplier let's call them Brown Corp, TAX ID 91-2345678. Brown Corp. was acquired by Blue Inc., DBA: Brown Corp, with a different TAX ID 87-1234567. It is best practice to create a new supplier? Or because the materials we purchase from Brown Corp. are the same inventory items, should we update the Tax ID? A.
