1099 or W-2? Navigating Worker Classification Rules and Risks

Share

Thursday, June 26, 2025 | 2:00PM-3:45PM Eastern Time | Live Webinar

Decoding employment classification regulations is not always simple given the changing ways in which we work. To ensure due diligence in employee classification, employers have to use guidance from the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor and states.

The webinar will focus on the IRS's 3-factor test for determining employee versus contractor classification -- behavioral control, financial control, and nature of the relationship.

The IRS isn't the only government agency that can look at you on this subject -- the Department of Labor and states can also audit you. And those agencies have different standards for determining contractor or employer. We will give an overview of what those standards are.

Lastly, we will cover what your relief options are if you're audited by the IRS.
