Employee Burnout and What You Can Do About It

Managing Employee Burnout

Recent trends show that employee turnover has recently become a big issue for many organizations. While accounts payable staffs have traditionally stayed in their jobs for many years, even decades, IOFM wanted to discover how much burnout is being felt among AP departments. To find out, we conducted a survey in early 2022 to find out how just how impactful the “Great Resignation” has been within AP.

The answers were revealing. While more than half of survey respondents reported being burned out, with some of them working upwards of 50 hours a week on average, they still take pride in their work and most intend to stay in their current jobs. However, we did discover that the increased workload and its associated stress is taking a toll on AP professionals’ health and work-life balance.

Download the IOFM editorial white paper, “Employee Burnout and What You Can Do About It,” to find out more about the pressure on AP professionals right now, what they think about it, and what managers can do to prevent burnout and the staff attrition that often comes with it.
